In Memory of Dustin Liesegang
Sometimes we are allowed to witness something as miraculous as the parting of the Red Sea! When the love and support of one human being transends boundaries as strong as basketball, it touches hearts. For those that knew him, you are smiling because you know and understand. For those of you that didn't, my words could never touch the depth of his story.
Dustin Liesegang became our hero as we witnessed his strengh and courage. Number 32, our Bobcat, the shy grin...He was a son any parent would be so very proud of, the twin of Justin, the little brother of Josh. He was a joy to know! As one of his opponents on the basketball court described him,"I trash talked him, trying my best to rattle him, but he would just grin at me. I have never heard him say anything bad about anyone, but even greater, I never heard a bad word said about him!" But in his illness, he showed what fight he had burning within him and the trust he put in his Heavenly Father. We can say bitterly that life isn't fair, but Dustin was such a gift!! It would be accurate to smile instead and say," Life isn't fair because everyone is not as blessed as we that knew Dustin!"
We all lose many loved ones in our lives. Dustin was one of those. Because he was loved and respected by so many, this page is here. Because of his example, the life he fought for with dignity and grace, this page is here. Because of his spirit in life, his gentleness, and courage the world rarely sees, this page is here.
